In this episode, I share why affirmations don't work and what actually you can do to make them work.
I start by sharing a few examples from our own life experiences to show you the reason what is missing in the normal affirming way of "saying the words out loud".

And then I dive into why it actually isn't working.

Speaker:and why they do not work.

Speaker:affirmations, positive affirmations,
Speaker:thinking it's not working same as,
Speaker:you know, some of your mentors
Speaker:and the rich people and the happy
Speaker:people have been telling you,
Speaker:or the books have been telling you
Speaker:, then
Speaker:you might find something interesting.
Speaker:And the reasoning behind
Speaker:why it does not work.
Speaker:If you are somebody who is embarking on
Speaker:the journey
Speaker:who has been told
Speaker:that, you know, start using affirmations
Speaker:in your daily practice,
Speaker:which, by the way, is a good practice,
Speaker:but there is a reason
Speaker:why it doesn't work.

Speaker:I've tried to work with it,
Speaker:but I haven't seen it working for me,
Speaker:so I gave up
Speaker:without really understanding
Speaker:why it didn't work.
Speaker:But more recently,
Speaker:I have come to a realization
Speaker:as I look back,
Speaker:you know what worked,
Speaker:what didn't work
Speaker:and as I am
Speaker:discovering new things in my journey.
Speaker:So I thought it would be a great lesson
Speaker:for somebody
Speaker:who was either new on the journey or
Speaker:have been on the journey.
Speaker:But, you know, realizing
Speaker:that it's not working
Speaker:or it's such a hard work,
Speaker:you know, jumping up and down and saying,
Speaker:I am happy
Speaker:while you're feeling really sad inside.
Speaker:So we'll dive into that in this episode.
Speaker:Before we get into the crux
Speaker:of the episode,
Speaker:let's just look at our experiences
Speaker:so that it makes sense to you
Speaker:when I get into the core of the topic
Speaker:that you can relate to what I'm saying
Speaker:and how I have come to this conclusion
Speaker:or how I have discovered
Speaker:that affirmations don't work.
Speaker:Obviously, it's my own experience.
Speaker:Maybe for some people it works,
Speaker:but I would say that with a
Speaker:quite a certainity, it works
Speaker:because of the certain things
Speaker:that I'm going to share
Speaker:in this episode later on.
Speaker:Have you ever been in a situation
Speaker:where you were talking to somebody,
Speaker:whether it's a colleague
Speaker:or somebody
Speaker:in your relation, a friend, a coworker,
Speaker:or maybe a total stranger
Speaker:who's saying all the right words to you,
Speaker:But you feel like
Speaker:you are not able to correct or
Speaker:reverse that.
Speaker:You were saying all the
Speaker:right words to the person
Speaker:opposite to you, and
Speaker:you're not finding a way to connect
Speaker:or you're not finding the person is
Speaker:showing an interest.
Speaker:Have you?
Speaker:I have.
Speaker:Or how about a salesperson
Speaker:trying to sell you the things
Speaker:telling you all the right things
Speaker:for a product that you know
Speaker:that you really need,
Speaker:but yet you don't buy that product,
Speaker:at least from that person.
Speaker:Or how about an actor in a movie
Speaker:where you felt
Speaker:the actor didn't do justice, or
Speaker:if feel like he was overacting,
Speaker:it was not delivering.
Speaker:It was not natural for that actor
Speaker:to play that character.
Speaker:And how about a singer, singing a song
Speaker:that's perfectly beautifully written
Speaker:with the perfect music,
Speaker:yet you don't feel
Speaker:you know, the connection to the song
Speaker:and the minute
Speaker:somebody else gets the mic and jumps on.
Speaker:And you are able to feel the song.
Speaker:Same song,
Speaker:same music, but just a different person.
Speaker:I assume we have been in this situation
Speaker:and we have seen it,
Speaker:if not all, some of these situations,
Speaker:some of these instances in our life,
Speaker:we have experience
Speaker:with different people ourselves
Speaker:where, you know,
Speaker:regardless of what
Speaker:the role was or what the situation was,
Speaker:we experienced that we were not able
Speaker:to connect to the person
Speaker:or the person
Speaker:was not able to speak into us.
Speaker:You know,
Speaker:a funny example or another example
Speaker:I thought was
Speaker:when you are negotiating with your boss
Speaker:or a company
Speaker:or an interview or a customer, you know,
Speaker:when the person in the opposite sides
Speaker:is trying to tell you
Speaker:that they are thinking
Speaker:in your best interest,
Speaker:while in your heart
Speaker:you know what they are not.
Speaker:There is something intuitive
Speaker:that you are able to feel
Speaker:that tells you and guides you that, OK,
Speaker:there's something missing.
Speaker:There's a gap between what is being said
Speaker:and what you are feeling,
Speaker:and so you don't know
Speaker:resonate with that situation.
Speaker:And it is the same with the affirmations
Speaker:when it's just about words,
Speaker:when you are affirming the words ONLY,
Speaker:without any connection to those words.
Speaker:It just sounds phony, unreal
Speaker:to your own mind and brain,
Speaker:and it was subconscious.
Speaker:But there is a deeper reason
Speaker:and science behind why it does not work,
Speaker:which we'll discuss as we go on.
Speaker:But let's start looking at affirmation.
Speaker:What affirmation is
Speaker:for people
Speaker:who have never done an affirmation
Speaker:and wondering
Speaker:what affirmation is the literal
Speaker:meaning of affirmation
is:Process or action of affirming
is:to something.
is:Breaking
is:down into the simple English.
is:You write down what you think.
is:And then you write down
is:about something
is:that you want in your life,
is:in your future,
is:that you currently don't have,
is:but you desire to have those things,
is:whether they are material,
is:things like household job
is:or, you know, your partner or
is:you know, their relationship
is:or you want to live somewhere
is:whatever you want in your lives.
is:So you write it down.
is:For example, money,
is:health, partnership, relationship.
is:Travel,
is:all those kind of things
is:that we have in our mind
is:that makes our life better, that we feel
is:enhances our experience
is:that gives medical life.
is:We write it down.
is:So once you've written down,
is:you make a list of that and.
is:And
is:you write it in the present tense,
is:as if it has happened.
is:For example,
is:if you wanted a lot of money,
is:you know, I don't I am abundant
is:who wanted a perfect partner
is:to write down.
is:I am living with a perfect partner
is:in harmony and I'm enjoying it.
is:If you wanted an ideal
is:body, your right to,
is:I am healthy and perfect.
is:I'm fat.
is:I'm enjoying my diet.
is:I'm enjoying my fall.
is:So this kind of thing that you write down
is:what you want,
is:but write it down in the present sense
is:that as if it has already happened.
is:And then.
is:You pick up a tie
is:where you
is:stand up in the front of the mirror
is:and you just read out loud
is:and you continuously do it in a way
is:to make your brain believe
is:that it has happened.
is:Now there's a size that tells that it's,
is:you know, our brain does not know
is:from what actually has happened
is:versus is what we are making
is:it believe it happens.
is:But there is a key thing
is:that makes the brain believe it.
is:first of the thing is
is:you have to believe it,
is:right, that it has happened
is:and only you can make it.
is:Brain believe
is:and mind
is:and subconscious mind
is:believe that it has happened.
is:But all happens is most people get stuck
is:on this step.
is:Only the first step,
is:which is information writing
is:and then telling yourself this.
is:Nearly people get stuck on the words.
is:They are repeating the words day
is:in, day out that all seem to change
is:because somewhere in their body,
is:their subconscious mind, it cannot
is:make believe.
is:I can give you stories of
is:why people get stuck there,
is:even when they are not
is:seeing the evidence
is:and even when
is:they are not seeing the results.
is:But maybe there is a
is:separate episode
is:altogether where we talk,
is:how people get stuck
is:and what we can do about it.
is:Let's look at the affirmations first
is:and why people get stuck.
is:All right.
is:If you
is:remember at the beginning of the episode,
is:I gave you a few examples of the people
is:that we haven't
is:personally connected
is:on different situations
is:where we have not felt connection.
is:And the
is:number one reason
is:we now didn't feel that connection was
is:there was missing.
is:The missing link was emotion.
is:There was not an emotion to wrap
is:our attention
is:and connect it to what it was being said.
is:So in other words, whatever was being set
is:out in the world
is:lacked that emotion.
is:There was a gap
is:between the emotion
is:and the words being spoken.
is:And this is same with.
is:Affirmations, right, you will ever buy
is:something from somebody.
is:Where you are not feeling
is:an action,
is:you're not feeling
is:something within yourself that is,
is:you know,
is:helping you make that buying decision,
is:you're not going to have to an actor
is:watching a movie
is:if there was no emotion involved,
is:if a large like a song,
is:there were not the right emotions
is:or if it didn't evoke
is:the right emotions and a new body.
is:In order for that to happen,
is:the singer has to feel those emotion
is:and transform
is:and evoke those emotion in the right.
is:So affirmations aren't the same thing
is:because your subconscious brain
is:will ever believe in something?
is:Well, it is not getting the signal
is:in the form of emotions from your body.
is:Let's say you want a partner in your life
is:and you are affirming Daily
is:Afzal in front of the mirror every day.
is:Multiple times
is:during the day, you're telling yourself.
is:I am living with my perfect partner,
is:I love my partner,
is:the partner is taking care of me.
is:We have a beautiful relationship.
is:We live in harmony.
is:All the positive things
is:that you can think about in
is:a relationship
is:and you see those things out loud, day
is:in, day out, every day .
is:You know,
is:it doesn't work while in your mind
is:you're feeling like that, right?
is:So you are seeing these words out loud,
is:but in your silence, in your mind,
is:you're feeling like
is:I may never find that person.
is:Why is he or she not showing up?
is:What is wrong with me?
is:Why can't I never find that partner?
is:Look around everybody else's
is:African partner.
is:They are living a married life.
is:They are living happy and alive life.
is:Why is it not working for me?
is:So when you are making affirmations
is:about,
is:you know, I have the perfect partner
is:while your silence in the talks
is:that you are doing with yourself
is:in the emotions
is:that you're feeling within,
is:there's a lack.
is:There's a sense of lack.
is:All right.
is:So that creates a gap
is:between what you're saying,
is:what you're feeling
is:and because you're feeling your stronger
is:feelings and intonation
is:is towards the lack.
is:No matter how many
is:times or how many years you know, you
is:try for a mission, it will never work
is:because you yourself
is:do not believe in those affirmations.
is:With those affirmations work,
is:you have to believe them in your mind,
is:in your body.
is:Otherwise,
is:those affirmations was like, Look,
is:no matter how many times you say it.
is:Let's look at why it will not work.
is:See, the basic in my self-affirmation
is:is that you speak into the universe.
is:You are actually putting
is:an order to the universe
is:in the form of your words
is:and you're saying, I am on this.
is:But the only thing is
is:the universe
is:does not understand the words,
is:the physical nature of the things
is:it understands or to feel it understands
is:the vibration of that energy.
is:And that's how it responds.
is:It responds to the vibration.
is:So while in the words
is:and the talking language,
is:you are saying, good, good, good,
is:good things, positive things.
is:Whereas inside you are
is:feeling like negative, you know,
is:you're missing,
is:you're saying that this is not working,
is:that lacks that feeling that vibration
is:sends a signal to the universe.
is:It's not working and you're says, OK,
is:you're all it is. It's not working.
is:So here you are.
is:It's not going to work.
is:So, so when you say
is:I may never have the perfect partner,
is:I may never find this.
is:It never works.
is:It was cause
is:I mean,
is:you'll never find the perfect partner.
is:It never works, you'll never have it.
is:You'll always be single.
is:You'll always be miserable.
is:Not that.
is:You know, that is
is:given that he called
is:all the single people are miserable.
is:But is your lack of feeling miserable
is:because not finding that
is:relationship is actually
is:making it miserable?
is:It's not a secret
is:that everything
is:in this universe that we know
is:the physical existence
is:and the cosmos as energy, right?
is:And it's just different forms of energy.
is:But at the core of it, it's still energy.
is:So that's the science, right?
is:I'm not going to get deeper into it,
is:but you can find
is:I'm sure I'm not a size person,
is:but to my own experience,
is:through my own
is:learning, I've discovered that.
is:Everything at the core of it is energy.
is:So our thoughts, our desires,
is:our feelings
is:that all emitting energy
is:and all of the vibrations
is:right is creating vibrations.
is:We may not be able to sense it always.
is:We may not be able to feel it always.
is:It's still, you know,
is:emitting that energy,
is:that vibration, just like you,
is:we are not able to see all the current
is:different levels of light
is:and hear
is:all the different levels of sound.
is:There's all these,
is:you know,
is:within the spectrum
is:range of things that we
is:that we can hear are audible to human
is:and the light seen with the light.
is:So same with just energy.
is:Just because we cannot see it
is:does not mean it's does not exist.
is:And obviously,
is:you don't have to believe me.
is:Who am I to say all these things?
is:I mean, as somebody on this journey
is:who has learned some things,
is:but here are few people
is:that have walked
is:before us on this earth .
is:And you know,
is:these are some of the things
is:they have said,
is:and hopefully it gives you confidence
is:and lets you know that, you know,
is:maybe there is the truth.
is:Now I'm
is:not asking you to completely believe me,
is:but I want you to come from the point.
is:Maybe, maybe there is a chance for one
is:pretty saying there is some truth to it.
is:Let me explore what that truth is.
is:So start with that.
is:Maybe
is:because that will help you, you know
is:crap and learn for yourself.
is:Albert Einstein says
is:everything in this life is vibration.
is:Well, that's pretty specific,
is:everything in this life is vibration.
is:Coming from
is:one of the,
is:you know,
is:brilliant scientists of our times.
is:How about this one?
is:If you want to find
is:the secrets of the Universe,
is:think in terms of energy, frequency
is:and vibration.
is:Guess who said it?
is:Nikola Tesla.
is:Brilliant, brilliant.
is:You know, scientists
is:who have discovered
is:so many things
is:I had, this was his Germany,
is:Ibrahim Hicks says,
is:as you think you vibrate?
is:And as you vibrate,
is:you attract.
is:And I think that's.
is:Gives you all a bold affirmation.
is:Obviously,
is:a prime hicks
is:has big on law of attraction,
is:but you know,
is:there's a deep, deep message
is:that when you're thinking
is:you're vibrating
is:and whatever you vibrating on
is:is what you're attracting.
is:So if you're vibrating from the lack.
is:If you're thinking about Lack
is:within you,
is:even though you may be speaking
is:something else.
is:For example,
is:I may be speaking all of these things,
is:but within if I'm thinking
is:this is stupid, this is,
is:you know, not working what I will write.
is:It will show up, right?
is:So.
is:Whatever you thinking,
is:you're vibrating in that energy
is:and whatever you're vibrating on,
is:that's what you're attracting.
is:And a quick check on
is:whether or not
is:you're vibrating on the frequency
is:you want to be is checking your reality.
is:If you do not have the results
is:you want in your life,
is:it's more likely
is:to have not been vibrating
is:on the right energy.
is:That means you have not
is:have not been thinking that, I thought.
is:No wonder Napoleon had to write the book
is:Think and grow rich, think and grow rich,
is:meaning whatever you're
is:thinking
is:will lead you to grow rich, right?
is:It's an excellent book

is:Negativity can only affect you
is:if you're on the same
is:frequency.

is:says something wrong, any news,
is:you know, something goes wrong
is:and it
is:starts to affect your mental
is:peace and balance.
is:I mean, that means you're if

is:coming down to their frequency,

is:If you're becoming aware of
is:just this little thing
is:that any time you feel in these negative
is:emotions in yourself,
is:that means you're on the wrong frequency.
is:That means something in your environment,
is:whether it's people,

is:something happening there,
is:it's causing something negative
is:and bringing down
is:you to a frequency that.
is:Is making you a negative.
is:And the minute you analyze it,
is:you can snap out of it
is:by vibrating at a higher frequency,
is:by changing the thought,
is:by changing their environment,
is:by changing the people.

is:what was the basis of our energy.

is:and they wanted to pass the message on.
is:So I'm just sitting this, you know,
is:on from the little bit of the
is:spiritual side
is:of the things
is:that it's not just the science
is:that recognizes it's actually
is:spiritual missed, you know,
is:say it of the people.
is:Recognize it a lot.
is:Earlier and
is:gave that to us
is:in form of the scriptures,
is:but unfortunately,
is:we have
is:lost those things in translation as well,
is:and it's not a secret
is:unless they're in written in.
is:You know, in this ancient scriptures
is:and taxane
is:people have been practicing,
is:it still requires
is:a practice, an intense level of practice
is:to come to learn and to be able to do it
is:so that it can bring you the results
is:that you
is:expect from your life
is:is not going to just happen by
is:you reciting you,
is:saying the words out loud.
is:It has to have that deeper connection
is:with those words,
is:the feeling that you want to acquire
is:if you really want to understand
is:the deeper science behind it.
is:You can do your research.
is:You can pick books from Dr.

is:how do we make our affirmations work?
is:The fact that you understand
is:you need to have information
is:that supports.
is:What you're feeling
is:or how you're feeling
is:rather than the missing link
is:is that you
is:create that emotion, that feeling
is:and then go to a permission.
is:So for example,
is:when you're feeling like,
is:when you're feeling negative,
is:when you're feeling, you know,
is:there's no point of going
is:and doing an affirmation,
is:Oh, I'm doing well.
is:It will not work right.
is:What will work instead is.
is:Well, firstly,
is:let that emotion bias all
is:these are emotions.
is:You have to give space and time
is:and let them pass through you.
is:So you might have to spend time
is:where you have to put a limit on
is:what time you put it on.
is:But once that is done,
is:do something that can.
is:Either neutralize that emotion, right?
is:Or even better, you can start
is:feeling better.
is:So in other ways,
is:it was something to change your mood,
is:whether it is
is:spending time with your children,
is:playing with your iPad
is:or listening to music
is:and going for a walk,
is:going for a walk
is:or whatever it is
is:you need to do to prepare yourself
is:so that you're in the right state.
is:You're ready to go,
is:do the affirmation that you're
is:naturally feeling good.
is:And then
is:making sure
is:that whatever you affirming about,
is:there's not a negative talk
is:going in your mind against that, right?
is:If I'm affirming that.
is:I on you know, I'm affirming
is:that I have a perfect partner in my life
is:that I need to make sure
is:that I'm feeling it,
is:that I am not feeling the like.
is:If you're feeling the like,
is:no matter how hard you try,
is:it's not going to work.
is:So first thing is
is:to go and work on the lack
is:on those negative subconscious emotions.
is:And that's where, you know, Dr.
is:George Spencer's work is

is:how to get into your subconscious and,
is:you know, drive that
is:negative emotions out
is:and replace it with positive things
is:so that
is:then you are able to
is:do the affirmations positively
is:and hopefully it will work
